Sharing my review of BRENNA’S CHOICE by Mary Manners

The Blurb:
When Brenna Langdon reluctantly returns to Collins, Oklahoma for her best friend’s wedding, the last person she expects to run into is Luke Morgan…the rancher who befriended her years ago following her parents’ sudden death. Luke is strong, gentle, and impossibly handsome…just what Brenna needs. Except for one thing–he loves his ranch…and the slow-paced solitude of Collins. Painful memories of her parents’ death and the agony of living in Collins with a cruel aunt and uncle have made Brenna vow to never return…except for the wedding. Three days, and she’s out of there–back to her high-powered, fast-paced marketing job in Chicago. But Luke has other plans…to chase painful memories away and bring Brenna home to Collins, for good.

My Review:
Short, sweet, and a perfect pick-me-up!

A short read packed with great sensory details, like Brenna’s impatience as she waits to exit the plane (we can all relate, right?) and the smells you’ll find on an Oklahoma ranch. Brenna only remembers the bad times in the small city she left behind, but Luke helps her rediscover the gems in Collins. At 23 pages, you may feel the romance is a bit rushed, but it’s the perfect size to pack a happily-ever-after into your lunch hour!

SMALL TOWN TREASURE releases June 22!

Hey friends.

I’m excited to announce that Small Town Treasure releases with White Rose Publishing on June 22 in e-book format only. It’s a deliciously, sweet romance, and tops out at a whopping 41 pages.

Here’s a little about Small Town Treasure:

Five years ago, Emily Mannerson escaped small town living and moved to the big city where nobody knew “poor little Emily” and her miserable background. Now an attorney, Emily longs for what she left behind…her adopted mother and high-school sweetheart.

Fire captain Matthew Westerly treasures his small town of Journey Creek and values faith, family, and friendships. When he rescues Emily from a horrific car accident, he’s determined to win her back and make up for the lost years. Can a big city girl and a small town boy discover their true treasure? Will they trust God to work a miracle?

I’m seeking influencers who can help me get the word out about Small Town Treasure by posting a review on Amazon and Pelican Book Group or by buzzing about it on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Shoutlife…wherever you hang out online.

I have a limited number of watermarked pdf copies, so please let me know if you’re interested as soon as possible. Leave a comment here on this blog or email me at

Let’s get to know Linore a little better. What does a normal workday look like for you?
“Normal,” doesn’t really fit my life, since with the kids having such different schedules, mine is always changing as well. However, I do try to hit the pc as soon as I get a load of laundry going and maybe assemble ingredients in the crock-pot for dinner. I’m big on planning, whether it’s menus for the week or the month; shopping trips, chores, etc. I don’t plan out my writing to the same degree, but lately I do try to reach a daily word count. I’m more focused on finishing a scene than filling my word quota, however, unless it’s a dry period where each word has to be squeezed out (ouch!) and those periods do happen.

What are some of your favorite things to do when you’re not writing? Least favorite?
I love to get involved in really good television which is rare to find, but rewarding when it happens. I’ve enjoyed Lost, 24, and most recently Downton Abbey and The Mentalist. I adore most Masterpiece Theater BBC presentations–catching anything 19th century is a real treat. I love doing large jigsaw puzzles but I’m extremely picky about what I’ll buy in this category. I lean toward art by the Impressionists, and I only do one or two a year during the winter, during breaks from writing and family chores. Family game nights are high on my list, as is reading, but I do that all the time. A least favorite occupation for me is cleaning the bathrooms. (No surprise there, huh?)

If you had a Friday night all to yourself, what would you do?
Wow–I’d love it, first of all! If I had a deadline, whether from a publisher or self-imposed, I’d hunker down and write. If not, I’d look for a BBC special, choose from my own DVD collection, or just get cozy and read one of the many books I’ve stored on my Kindle. There are times when I’ll use a “free” evening to get a special job done, such as rearranging a room or cleaning out a closet. I hate to say I’d waste a whole night that way, but I do! I often have to write, cook and shop during the day so that evenings are the only time to do the extra stuff.
