“There’s so much more to a book than just the reading.” ~Maurice Sendak

So Much More to a Book Reading Dora Hiers Fiction Faith & Foodies

Finding peace.

Reclaiming faith.

Experiencing healing.

Overcoming fears.

Surrendering control.

Sometimes themes are woven into a book with such a gentle, subtle thread that we may not even recognize them until we finish reading. Other times, a particular theme flashes like a neon sign.

What themes do you appreciate in your reading?

Winter is the time for…what?

Winter time Tori Kayson

Nothing beats a bowl of chili (or insert your favorite soup) to warm up a belly on a cold, blustery night. And I can’t think of any other wintertime activity I enjoy more than hunkering inside, hanging out with hubby in front of a warm fire. I don’t even mind the time change, where darkness sets in by five thirty or six in the evenings. That just means more time to read or graze on Hallmark movies. lol.

By the time spring rolls around and the temps heat up, I’ll be ready for the extra hour of daylight.

What’s your favorite aspect of winter? Least favorite?

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” Edith Sitwell
